A scissor trusses enables the ceiling height in the middle of the truss to be higher than at the edges, thereby creating a slightly vaulted effect. There is a limit to how high the ceiling can be, because if it was too high the strength of the truss would be lost. This type of truss is not used much, but for those wanting a different solution it is ideal.
We need the following information to design this type of roof truss:
the span of the truss
the length of the building (at right angles to the trusses)
the type of roof covering (eg slate or concrete tiles)
