Timber framed buildings are not used in the UK anywhere near as much as other countries, particularly North America. However, their use is becoming more widespread. The main advantage with a timber framed garage is that they are very lightweight and they are very flexible structures. This is very useful on sites with poor ground, as it avoids the need for expensive foundations. There can also be constructed so that they can be dismantled later and moved to a different location if required.
We need the following information to design a timber framed garage:
architectural layout or sketch drawing with dimensions, and elevations of the garage
details of the type of roof covering.
the approximate location of the building
